ENI is waiting for the first extracted oil

Works on Kashagan field are carried out successfully and, presumably, the first portion of oil will be extracted at the end of 2005. It was stated by the executive director of Kashagan project Dominiko Spad (ENI representative) at the meeting with the prime-minister of Kazakhstan Kasymzhomart Tokaev. Kashagan is the largest deposit not only in the Kazakh part of Caspian sea.
We shall remind you, that the reserves only of the western part of the huge deposit "Каshagan" amount to 25-60 billion barrels of petroleum (3,4-8,1 billion tons).
The operator of Kashagan project is Agip Kazakhstan North Caspian Operating Company a part of ENI, it has 14,28% of shares. Other shareholders of the project are French- Belgian Company TotalFinaElf (28,56 %), British BG (14,28 %), American ExxonMobil (14,28 %), British-Dutch Royal Dutch/Shell (14,28 %), Japanese Inpex Masela (7,14%), and American Phillips Petroleum (7,14 %).
