Ford Intermixes Its Managers
27 March 2003 , 08:58432
Ford Motor Company continues to reshuffle its North American management.
Chris Theodore, previously head of product development, will effectively share that responsibility in North America with Phil Martens, formerly a vice president of vehicle product development and engineering.
The timing of Mr Theodore's move may be further evidence of Ford's desire to accelerate the time it takes to bring new products to market. The creation of four new product development teams was aimed at reducing by 25% the time it takes to bring new vehicles to the market.
Meanwhile, Ford's rivals are set to launch scores of new products this year. General Motors is launching 10 new vehicles and Nissan eight this year in North America, according to J.D. Power & Associates, a consultancy.
