Russian President Vladimir Putin has affirmed that the sale of Yukos' main subsidiary Yuganskneftegaz to Baikal Finance Group complied with the law.
He said the company had a long history of operating in the Russian energy industry and it would eventually link up with another Russian energy company. Now it?s clear that he was talking about state-owned oil company Rosneft, which has acquired yesterday 100 per cent shares of Baikal Finance Group.
Meanwhile, State Duma Chairman Boris Gryzlov believes Russia should disregard the statements by the US State Department on the Yuganskneftegaz stock auction, since it is only Russia's internal affairs.
